ROSE WEASLEY-MALFOY, SCORPIUS MALFOY AND LYRA MALFOY

Rose was gazing adorably at the bundle in her arms, a bundle of fingers and toes wrapped in pale pink wool and cotton, with dark blonde curls poking out from under her hat, and a pair of big pale blue eyes staring back.

“It’s time for bed now, Holly, because you have such a busy day tomorrow. Do you know why?”

Her voice was quiet and soft, stopping only to drop at light, loving kiss onto the baby’s head.

“It’s your first Christmas and your first birthday, all at the same time! Which makes you a very lucky little girl, don’t you think? Cause I think so and so does daddy!”

There was a chuckle from beside the cot, a deep masculine chuckle that could only belong to one person.

“Rose, you know her name isn’t Holly, don’t you?” Scorpius said in his usual smug tone of voice.

The brunette haired witch seemed to ignore her husband, still gazing at her child, before speaking again.

“As much daddy’s family leaned on me to keep with the stupid name tradition that they have, I was the one who spent 40 hours pushing you out of my vagina, so if I call you by your middle name, then I will, won’t I? I’m your mummy, and I chose it because it’s Christmassy and perfect for my little angel!”

“You’re perfect, Rosie.” Scorpius said shaking his head, a smile creeping across his face slowly, as he leaned on the end of the cot.

Placing her daughter down although she would break, Rose grinned.

“Not as perfect as our little baby Holly! Lyra Holly Weasley-Malfoy!”

Lyra punched and kicked the air with her balled fists and feet, at the sound of her name, gurgling as she did.

“That name is worse than mine, I swear.” Scorpius cooed at his daughter, “Because daddy has a very silly name too!”

Rose laughed aloud, letting Lyra grasp at her fingers.

“What are you talking about? At your mother’s suggestion, I nearly used the name she would have given you if you’d have been a girl, but I’ve decided to save it for our second born daughter.”

“Second born daughter?” Scorpius asked, taken slightly aback before grinning along with Rose, “And what despicable name might that be, oh darling wife of mine?”

Rose stroked Lyra’s face, tearing her eyes away from her daughter for the first time throughout the entire conversation.

“Vulpecula.” She said calmly, watching a cocky smirk grace her husband’s face.

“Vulpecula? I love it, although not quite as much as I love you.”

“And I love you.” Rose said a blush appearing across her nose and cheeks as she did, before leaning over and kissing his lips lightly, “Merry Christmas, daddy.”
